When you’re burnt-out, it’s normal to struggle with doing anything about it.
Your mind is in an activated stress mode, and you need someone else to guide you through this.
You know your destination, but you need someone else to provide the map.
You need someone else to lead you step by step, providing you with just the very next step you need to take.
The Kickstart Program takes you through the first phase of managing burnout. When you really think about it, this has built up over a long period of time. There might have been big events and challenges, little things that accumulated, unfair things, mistakes you’ve made, chance circumstances….. and over time, you’ve ended up here.
This isn’t a little problem that can be solved with a pill, or in a day, or even a few weeks.
It will take many months to reach a place of real contentment and wellbeing, but you will get there.
The first step on your journey begins here.
This program will help you to
- Acknowledge and explore your current struggles
- Clarify the future you’re working towards
- Address the imbalance between demands and resources
- Learn brief cognitive skills to help you cope with tough days
- Select and work on one key current challenge
- Learn to modify and adapt management strategies so that they best serve you
- Establish long-lasting change
The aim with these steps is to take you from feeling completely overwhelmed and defeated to a place where you have regained the energy and mental capacity to address the challenges you face. You will feel more hopeful and confident that you can overcome burnt-out, because you will have already tackled one of your big difficulties and made progress with finding a solution. You will be thinking more clearly, and have the energy to move forward.
Deep down inside, you have what you need to get through this. Your values, your desires, your sense of purpose, your hopes, your unique set of personal attributes. Some of them as clear as day, and others waiting to be uncovered. What you need now is someone to lead you through using those things you already possess, teaching you some new skills, and encouraging you along the way.
There will be ups and downs.
Good days and bad days.
But we’ll do this together.
This program has 6 guided steps, and in each step there will be videos and written information to help you, as well as practical tasks for you to complete.
The action tasks are a core component of this. It’s through those active steps that thoughts will be processed, challenges analysed, and lasting changes made.
Information will be limited to only what you really need to hear right now. I know you don’t have the time or energy to wade through mountains of detail and complexity.
You will receive the next step every few days, but your pace will be guided by you. Don’t rush through it. At the same time, don’t get too bogged down in one part and stall your progress. Keep moving gently through it as you feel able to.
Everyone doing this has unique circumstances and needs. A particular task may be a quick exercise for one person, but a complex process that digs up deep emotions for another. And that’s ok.
This isn’t a race, and rushing it won’t help.
So don’t worry if you get ‘behind’. There is no ‘behind’, there is only where you need to be in that moment.
Is this progam for everyone?
No. There are some people for whom this program isn’t the best next step. In some cases, you need individual therapy under close supervision.
